Installation Methods
Chrome Web Store (Recommended)
Install directly from the Chrome Web Store to receive automatic silent updates as new capture improvements roll out.
Developer Build (Unpacked)
For local testing or internal enterprise distributions, go to chrome://extensions, toggle Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and select the extension directory.
Required Permissions Explained
The extension requests only permissions necessary for recording browser workflows:
Captures interaction coordinates (clicks, scrolls, typing) only on tabs where you explicitly click Record.
Records high-resolution video streams and screenshots of your browser tab.
Temporarily buffers video chunks locally to prevent data loss in case of network interruptions.
Starting a Recording
- Pin the FlowWasp extension to your browser toolbar for quick access.
- Navigate to the web page or web app you wish to document.
- Click the FlowWasp icon in your toolbar and press Start Recording.
- Perform your workflow normally. A subtle border indicator lets you know recording is in progress.
- Click Finish Recording when complete. Your steps are automatically processed and opened in the studio.
